Currently a chemistry teacher with over ten years of expertise in educational and enterprise sectors. Olisa is committed to bringing more exposure to engagement that will connect the world through his mission and vision.

BE MORE STEM

BE MORE STEM, is a 501(c) nonprofit and mentoring company of Menakaya Academy. The company’s primary initiative, B.E. M.O.R.E. S.T.E.M. (Bringing Everyone More Opportunities and Relevant Experiences in S.T.E.M.) is a national initiative that engages and excites communities about S.T.E.M. careers. B.E. M.O.R.E. S.T.E.M. is founded on the belief that increasing creative thinking in students leads to their increased academic performance. The company’s secondary initiative, D.E.N.T. Group (Delivering Educational Needs Together), offers information technology (I.T.) training courses to help adults find employment in the Mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Tilghman, the founder, has created a unique brand of educational entertainment that combines his Disc Jockey skills with his love for S.T.E.M. education. He conducts his “Edutainment” workshops at high profile events across the country.

Learn, Explore, and Engage. Scholars engage in science courses of secondary education that will introduce students and teachers by guiding notes, work slides, short films, and virtual trivias. Courses that students and teachers explore covered topics from biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Membership for scholars is available as daily, weekly, or monthly. The innovation is design for engagement learning cater to different grade levels. Students understand how sciences and engineering impact them through daily routines of the practicals and assessments.

Apply, Work, and Serve. The Menakaya Academy provides community service cater to student service learning and volunteer vocational training. As an advisor, the benefits come with an established network showcasing the online portfolio, certification, and recommendation for the advisor. Tools for team building and self improvement include soft skills of the scientific method, creative writing, presentation projects, and collective discussions. Scholarships are provides through innovative grants to enrich graduating student and volunteer advisors by completing 200, 500, and 1000 hours with the foundation. Students and volunteers will participate in a learning environment that complements a modern business model that can enrich their lives for future work or college references.
